Nestled in the heart of New Zealand's Central Plateau, Sportsmans Lodge Turangi was the perfect base for our adventure, especially for someone like me who thrives in nature. The lodge has a charming, rustic vibe, and I loved the communal atmosphere-there's a cozy lounge with a wood burner that became our go-to spot after long days of exploring. We shared thrilling tales of our trekking and trout fishing experiences, bonding over our catches from the renowned Tongariro River just minutes away. The self-catering kitchen was well-equipped, which let us whip up meals together while enjoying our own local produce. Although the rooms might be on the smaller side, they felt just right for unwinding after a day full of outdoor activities. The shared facilities, like the drying room for gear and the game room, added a delightful touch to our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and eager to help, which made arriving after a long journey feel so welcoming. I left with a heart full of memories and plans for my next visit! Sportsmans Lodge Turangi is not just a place to stay; it felt like home in the midst of nature's playground. Highly recommended for those who cherish the great outdoors!
